Drawing from the landscape and visual language of the American West, Matt transforms naturally occurring animal forms into contemporary sculptural works.
Each piece begins with a distinctive natural form and is individually developed through layers of pattern, color, texture, and surface. The recognizable form remains, while the treatment creates an entirely new visual language.
Every piece is unique.
No two works are alike. Each piece is individually created, allowing the natural character of the skull to become part of the finished composition.
